Job Done!

Sue cycled out from John O Groats to meet me and we completed the trip together. I think I deserve another bacon buttie!

Many thanks to everybody that has donated and provided support and encouragement along the way. I think that once I have collected my sponsor money we shall have raised over 7000 pounds.

We travel now along the North Coast to Bettyhill for a night in the Farr Bay Inn. Then on to Durness before heading south along Loch Shin.

Anyone for Cape Wrath to Dover?

Looks like I'm first with the Cliff Richard impression!

Well done!!! Beers are on me next time you're up the Smoke!!

And definitely up for the Cape Wrath-Dover route... but not at 120 miles a day!

(And in case you're wondering why I deleted the first comment... there were too many BA-BAs in it. Tch, and me a musician too.)

Well done -- and all completed without any green-lipped mussels!

It's been great following the blog again - much more interesting than reading Psychologies page proofs. Can't wait for the Cape Wrath Dover instalment.

Yay - well done, Simon!!! Really pleased for you that you've completed your quest: in the words of Azrul Izwan of Kuala Lumpur (!): "a noble cause" - indeed.

It's been a delight and honour to have played a small part in it. I thoroughly enjoyed riding with you on Saturday afternoon, Sunday and (even in the rain and at snail's pace with Beth) on Monday morning!

Sue deserves a big pat on the back for being support car queen and mobile tea lady extraordinaire - driving all those miles (which would be challenging enough for most mortals). I'll not dwell on the fondant fancies, but the flasks of tea and the fantastic home-made flapjack are well worthy of a big thumbs up! Well done, Sue (and thanks for being a great child-minder on Monday, too! More than you bargained for, I'm sure!).

And well done to Mark as well - I know he thrives on such opportunites to skive off from work, but it was really great of him to put in something approaching 300 miles in the saddle over 4 days to accompany you a good chunk of the way, especially on that grim day you had together on Tuesday.

You never know, there's an outside chance I might be persuade-able for Cape Wrath to Dover... or even The Lizard to Dunnet Head, come to that. But like Rob, I may baulk at 120 miles in a day!

Have a great few days resting and safe journey home.

Paul

P.S. when do you want your 'slicks' back?

Belated CONGRATULATIONS from Chris and me but to be honest it was never in doubt!! Enjoy a rest and celebration and we'll see you sometime soon when you get back.

We had a great time on the two legs that we did so who knows what the future may hold.
